In the below section we’ve go our thoughts and feelings down of how many days in Menorca is enough whether you’re a couple, family or inbetween.

How Many Days In Menorca Is Enough For A Couple

As with many things, this depends. Whether you’re a younger couple or even a the later stages of life we feel the ideal time for a couple in Menorca is around the 7-10 days mark. Most notably over the summer months of June to September.

Why Is 7-10 Days The Perfect Time For A Couple To Visit Menorca? (In our opinion)

We’ve decided that around 7-10 days in Menorca is ideal for a number of reasons. Firstly, the length of the holiday allows you enough time to settle into the holiday. With 2 travel days at the start and end of your holiday leaving enough time left on the holiday itself.

Secondly, the weather is important. Naturally in the summer you’re more likely to experience great weather. The more time spent in Menorca over the summer months the more chance you have of enjoying the spectacular weather the island has to offer. Menorca does have bad weather, even in the summer. And we’ve visited plenty of times where there’s the cloudy day and even the odd storm.

Thirdly, there’s plenty to see and do in Menorca. With the vast coastline, quaint towns, bustling coastal resorts, markets, festivals, tours and excursions around Menorca and plenty more there’s so much you can do on your visit. This 7-10 day mark provides great balance. Enough time spent relaxing around the pool or beaches, or even one of Menorca’s hidden beaches. With the remainder exploring the island.

Fourth, value for money. The longer you spend on the island the better value for money you achieve. If you work everything out on a cost per day basis, even building a DIY holiday if you’re staying for 4 days, the costs of flights and hotels ramp up. Of course though, the longer you spend on the island the more you will spend in total. So take this point with a pinch of salt.

Fifth, the culture. We feel the 7-10 days allow you to immerse yourself into the Menorcan lifestyle and experience the culture. Whether that’s experiencing one of the many Menorca café style bars into the early evening in Ciutadella, attending one of the Menorcan fiestas, enjoying one of Menorca’s tasty treats, visiting the inland towns of Alaior or Es Mercadal for example. To really see Menorca you need to get out and about. A short weekend is great, but just that bit longer makes all the difference.

How Many Days In Menorca Is Enough For A Family

You guessed it, it depends. We also appreciate the fact that holidays have become more expensive over the years. Combined with increased pressures on household budgets make family holidays a real treat to be savoured. But also an expensive treat. With that in mind we feel that for a family to tick off the how many days in Menorca is enough, you’re looking at around 10-14 days.

Why Is 10-14 Days The Perfect Time For A Family To Visit Menorca? (In our opinion)

10-14 days in our opinion is the ideal amount of days to spend in Menorca for a family for multiple reasons. Firstly, memories. Money can’t buy happiness. But many people have been on holidays with families over the years and they still talk about those holidays as adults. Whether its learning to swim, visiting the beach for the first time ever, getting on a plane for the first time and everything in between. Nothing beats creating memories that can be shared throughout life, over and over again.

Secondly, value for money. Often families book package holidays with large tour operators. It takes the stress away and offers great value for money. But even if you DIY your holiday, the difference between booking a 7 day holiday to a 10 or even 14 day holiday may not be that much. When you’re considering all-inclusive options too, this increase in the length of holiday, doesn’t always increase the day to day spending when you’re away. Economies of scale.

Thirdly, stress and time off. Definitely one for the parents. Everyone wants to enjoy their holiday. For children this may mean running around making friends. Whereas for adults and grandparents, this is more focussed on relaxing and not having to cook, clean and complete the chores. It’s a no brainer, the more time you spend off, the more time you can really unwind. With that in mind, for families we highly recommend booking hotels with all day kid’s clubs as well as entertainment into the evening.

Forth, activities. We mentioned there’s plenty for adults to do in Menorca above. But Menorca is a fantastic island and has a real family-oriented feel to it. Unlike it’s Balearic neighbour, Ibiza. From the beaches and waterparks, to kayaking, jeep safaris and the other fantastic things to do in Menorca. We also have our fantastic what to do in Menorca with kids this summer guide.

Fifth, beaches. They’re free, plentiful, clean and fantastic. With well over 100 beaches around the coast of Menorca there will be one on your doorstep everyone. Even more helpful is that fact that many are protected by natural bays, extremely shallow and gradually slope from the shore to the sea, making them ideal for children’s to walk and play in.

How Many Days In Menorca Is Enough For An Individual

Once again you guessed it, it depends. Individuals are unique and what is right for someone may well not be right for someone else. One individual may want to explore the coastal resorts of Menorca, whereas others may want to wander the inland towns of Menorca. We feel that around 7 days is the ideal length of time for an individual to visit Menorca.

Why Is 7 Days The Perfect Time For An Individual To Visit Menorca? (In our opinion)

7 days is the right amount for an individual in our opinion to really answer how many days in Menorca is enough. You can definitely argue for more days for sure. We feel this provides a good amount of time to explore and unwind at your own pace.

Firstly, timing. Taking away 2 travel days leave you with 5 full days to explore and unwind. On your own, we feel this provides a good balance for your stay on the island of Menorca. Whether that’s visiting Ferreries or Alaior, even hiking one of the many trails around the island. Or, taking the time to sit around the pool or one of Menorca’s many beautiful beaches.

Secondly, the cost. Travelling alone can be expensive. Unfortunately booking through travel agents can often leave you paying what seems like a single person supplement. Particularly if hotels don’t have single rooms, you’ll find you’re paying for a room that sleeps two and thus the companies are missing out on revenue. The issue is exacerbated the longer the trip.

Thirdly, exploring. As mentioned above, at least 5 full days allow you to explore the islands many towns, resorts and get to grips with what it has to offer. There are plenty of organised excursions and trips in Menorca, or perhaps you may want to look into Menorca car hire for ease. You may even want to use the local Menorcan bus network to get around.
