A rocky Northern coastal resort, Fornells Menorca is popular amongst water sport enthusiasts and quieter amongst traditional Menorca tourists.

Fornells Overview
Confusingly, Fornells is split into two distinct areas on the island of Menorca. You have Fornells Town and you have Playa de Fornells, also called Platges de Fornells or Fornells Beach.
Fornells Town is predominately focussed around the harbour with plenty of water sports, some great fish restaurants and plenty of fashion stores. Popular with locals and more residential than a lot of the other resorts featured, such as Santo Tomas or Cala Galdana. With its huge natural bay, Fornells town is ideal for kayaking, boat trips and other water sports.
Playa de Fornells, to the West of Fornells Town is slightly more focussed around tourism. With a small, protected beach, larger hotels and the larger beach of Cala Tirant. The shallow waters and tranquil sea make it a great destination for families.
For ease, we’ve split the Fornells information and guides into two. You can use the contents tab slightly above. Or, if you’d like to scroll down and read, first up is Fornells Town information. Followed by Fornells Beach information.

Fornells Town Hotels & Accommodation
Again, sticking to Fornells town as opposed to Fornells beach. Fornells town accommodation is relatively limited. With no large hotels your options are smaller intimate B&Bs, villas and apartments, which of course, are exactly what some people are after.
Fornells Beach & Playa de Fornells
As mentioned previously, Platges de Fornells is not the same as Fornells town. To avoid any confusion. Playa de Fornells & Fornells Beach and resort lies to the West of Fornells Town and offers more of the typical tourist resort than the town.
Fornells town doesn’t have a beach, so you’re best bet is heading slightly to the West where you can find Playa de Fornells.
Fornells Beach

The resort of Playa en Fornells is served by the small, sandy beach of Fornells. Rocks either side provide protection to crashing waves.

Tramontana Park
One of only a few hotel options in Fornells, and the Tramontana Park Fornells provides an intimate hotel setting with only 80 rooms. A quiet setting, white washed buildings and a cliff top location provide beautiful views throughout the day and into the late evening.

Although only 3 star, the Tramontana Park comes highly rated due to its simplicity, friendly staff, tranquil setting and beautiful location.
Rooms in the Tramontana Park range from one and two bedroom apartments that can sleep two right up to six people. Rooms come with a variety of rooms at an extra cost, balcony, terrace or even a sea view.
Probably more apartments than a hotel with the facilities somewhat limited. Although you have the on site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in which you can choose self-catering, bed & breakfast or half board during your stay. As well as the Tramontana Bar serving up a variety of local and international drinks.
A specious outdoor swimming pool, gym, table tennis and occasional evening entertainment to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

FERGUS Club Carema Splash
Also know as the Carema Splash, the FERGUS Club Carema Splash is a fantastic family hotel in Fornells. Easy access to the large Cala Tirant beach, onsite water park (at an additional cost) and plenty of dining options to keep everyone in the family happy.

Plenty of room types are available to meet all family requirements, from smaller one bedroom apartments with or without sea views to larger one bedroom superior apartments to significantly larger two bedroom apartments of all types.
The large outdoor lagoon style pool with attached children’s splash zone, dedicated water park featuring slides, sprinklers and water buckets are enough to keep the children happy. Additionally, throughout summer the kid’s clubs with dedicated age groups from 4 up to 16 years old has plenty going on. Not to mention the children’s playground, regular entertainment all throughout the day and into the evening with bingo, live shows and music karaoke, mini-disco and even professional shows.
An all-inclusive board with multiple restaurants mean you don’t have to worry about additional costs. The main Vistamar restaurant, a la carte Zia Rosetta restaurant and snack bar keep guests well fed all day. For drinks, the evening lounge bar and pool bar keep guests hydrated.

TRH Tirant Playa

Room types are limited to one bedroom only. However with the option of choosing self-catering, bed & breakfast, half-board or all-inclusive, the flexibility is fantastic. All served by one large main restaurant.
Entertainment is limited throughout the day and evening, but of course you have the opportunity to explore Menorca however you wish.
You can search for apartments at the TRH Tirant Playa here.
Fornells Nighlife
Nightlife in Fornells and Playa de Fornells is extremely limited. With very few bars to choose from, evening entertainment in your apartment or hotel is your best bet.
For an evening drink we’d recommend heading over to the Isabella Beach Club. But your best bet for a night out in Fornells is heading to Ciutadella, or Mahon.
