Tops Tips For Couples In Menorca
- Menorca is a relatively quiet island. Head to Majorca or Ibiza if you want late nights and super clubs
- Avoid the month of August if possible, your holiday will be more expensive, busier and a lot more families around
- If you enjoy exploring either hire a car or, stick to the two cities of Menorca due to the better bus links, Mahon and Ciutadella
- The island has plenty to do, such as visiting the highest point in Menorca, enjoy Go Karting, visit one of Menorca’s fiestas, enjoy the island’s only Zoo or even enjoy cycling in Menorca
- It pays (literally), to have a currency card with zero fees abroad. But considering getting two cards or two separate cards that enjoy zero fees. Having to constantly swap the card over or remembering who has the card makes for an annoyance all holiday. Particularly if you enjoy exploring seperately.

Hotel Port Mahon
Right in the heart of the capital city of Menorca. Hotel Port Mahon provides a great base to explore the capitals bars, restaurants, markets and more. As well as being situated near the local bus centre allowing easy access to explore other resorts and towns.
It’s worth remembering that Mahon is on the far east of the island. Meaning that if you want to explore the west of the island and some of the smaller resorts in that area, such as Cala Blanca, you may require two buses. Or allow for additional journey time if hiring a car.
Similarly to Hotel 55 Santo Tomas, Hotel Port Mahon provides Bed & Breakfast or Half Board options, which allows the opportunity to enjoy local bars and restaurants within easy walking distance for lunch or dinner.

Melia Cala Galdana
The Melia features on our Cala Galdana guide, but we thought it deserved a mention here. One of the best hotels for couples in Menorca and featuring arguably the best views in the resort overlooking the extravagant Cala Galdana beach and bay. It’s easy why this hotel is great for couples.
Not only this the variety of rooms and facilities on offer make for a great couples holiday in Menorca. Multiple rooms with a variety of views are available, premium rooms, junior and standard suites, to grand suites and and junior suites in The Level – an exclusive featuring unrivalled views, private dining and more exclusive benefits.
You’re set slightly away from the busier areas, but right on the beach. Meaning, your stay can be as calm and relaxing as you like, or you can spend more time in the Cala Galdana bars and restaurants if you so choose.
Alternatively the three onsite restaurants serve a variety of flavours from Italian, Mediterranean treats and local and international delights.
The Cala Galdana bus routes aren’t spectacular so double check the Menorca bus routes. Alternatively Cala Galdana is relatively welly located so car hire may be your best bet if you love exploring. Hotel Port Ciutadella
The second port hotel on our list, this time in the second city of Ciutadella. Perhaps a couples hotel in Menorca that’s provides a more lively offering and picturesque than some hotels in the capital. Ciutadella does provide great bus links to other areas of Menorca too, so similarly to Mahon you’ll have great access to explore the island.
Bear in mind Ciutadella is the far west of the island, so visiting any areas in the east besides Mahon will require additional effort to explore. Whether that’s two buses or extra time onto your driving.
Bed & Breakfast and Half Board options again allow the opportunity to explore local cuisine at the many restaurants and bars, all within a short walk from the hotel. The unique locations also allows exploration of Ciutadella on foot, head for the narrow streets, picturesque harbour with plenty of boat trips on offer, small boutique shops or beautiful town hall that over looks the city and narrow harbour.
The hotel spa and lobby bar provide places to unwind with the outdoor swimming pool and gym a great place to keep your body active.

TUI BLUE Victoria Menorca
The final hotel on our list is another located in the Santo Tomas resort. The TIU Blue Victoria Menorca, formerly Victoria Playa hotel has undergone a complete revamp recently. Switching from a large family focused hotel to couples, meaning this is actually an adult only hotel.
It’s located just down the road from the Hotel 55 Santo Tomas, closer to the beach, shops, main road that links you to the rest of the resort and also the local bus stop.
The main reason for featuring on our list is the activities on offer to keep you busy, active and leave a lasting impression. From a rooftop pool and main outdoor pool on ground level, multiple bars throughout the building including lobby bar, pool bar and the main bar. Two restaurants, including one á la Carte. The focus however is on the activities, a full daytime programme, think yoga and Pilates, poolside games, culinary classes, party nights and themed nights. Are all just the tips of the ice berg.
If you wish, there’s all inclusive. And half board for others who may want to enjoy lunch elsewhere around the resort or the island.
