Mahon Markets And Shopping
Being the capital city, Mahon has plenty of boutique stores dotted around from florists to cheese stores, butchers to delicatessen. You also have the Mahon supermarkets for your food and drink requirements.
But if you want a more intimate approach the the markets in Mahon are your best bet. The Mahon market days vary, depending on what market you want to visit and the time of year.

Alaior Markets And Shopping
In the centre of Menorca, Alaior has a slightly different feel being away from the Mediterranean sea and coast. Although there are plenty of Alaior supermarkets, Alaior still offers a healthy variety of boutique stores, beautiful cheese stores like this one, and this one, jewellery stores, clothing stores and more.

Es Mercadal Markets And Shopping
Another inland town and the next along the Me-1 from Alaior to Ciutadella. Es Mercadal has a few supermarkets you can explore for general food and drink. However, there are again some smaller independent stores to explore, clothing stores and even Ensaimadas – a sweet Menorcan pastry.

Ferreries Markets And Shopping
The final inland town on the island of Menorca. Similarly Ferreries has some general supermarkets for your food shopping. However, they also have independent stores too such as food and veg store Ca Na Clara, Butchers – Febrer Serra SL, or Carnisseria Barber.

Menorca Evening Summer Markets
Cala en Porter Markets
The flea market in Cala en Porter takes place on Mondays and Thursdays from May to October, 19:00 to 23:00. Located on Plaça de Mevis and Plaça de cala en Porter.
Punta Prima Markets
There is an evening market in Punta Prima on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday, 18:00 to 24:00. From June to September. There is another Punta Prima street market that takes place on Sunday from 08:00 to 23:00.
Santo Tomas Markets
The small coastal resort has an evening market next to the central resort car park at the Passeig Marítim. The market in Santo Tomas runs Thursdays to Sunday evenings 19:00 to 23:00.
Es Migjorn Gran Markets
Every Tuesday evening during the summer months from July to September the narrow streets are filled with independent hand crafted goods. From the late afternoon into the evening, around 19:00 to 23:00.
Es Castell Markets
The markets in Es Castell include Calesfonts craft market running from June to September on the ramp to Calesfonts, from 19:30 into the evening. The creative craft market runs through June to September as well from 19:30 on Mondays on the Sa Font and Miranda i Moll de Calesfonts streets.

These smaller resorts run intimate craft markets during the summer from July to September, around 17:00 into the late evening.
Fornells Markets
June to September there is the food and local produce market in Fornells on Monday evenings, from around 17:00 into the evening. Alternatively, June to October time there is a craft market to enjoy. Wednesdays 09:00 – 14:00 and Monday and Sunday 18:00 – 23:00 – found n Fornells, Es Pla, Passieg Maritim.

Sant Lluis Markets
The night market in Sant Lluis runs throughout the summer from early June to early September between 19:00 – 24:00 on Carrer Sant Lluis, on Fridays. You also have the day time market on Pla de la Creu, Monday and Wednesdays 10:00 – 14:00.
Menorca Shopping Hours
The markets in Menorca differ, many operate in the morning or in the evening to avoid the afternoon heat in the summer. However, there are a few that run all day.
Typically, stores in Menorca open Monday to Saturday with the opening hours centred around morning and late afternoon trade, closing in the afternoon for siesta. Menorca shopping opening hours are approximately 09:00/09:30 – 13:00/13:30, reopening again 16:30/17:00 – 23:00/23:00. However trading hours may differ from store to store, but generally expect Menorcan stores to be closed for siesta.
Exceptions to this rule are restaurants, will will likely stay open later in the summer to coincide with the Mediterranean preference of eating later into the night. Additionally, local stores in the coastal and tourist resorts are more likely not to close for siesta from June – September, remaining open during these hours.
