It’s uniqueness is and popularity is due to its beauty but also access only via foot. Although a car park nearby does provide close access (car park here). This does also mean boat trips stop by Cala en Turqueta which increases the amount of visitors, particularly during July and August in the height of summer.

Macarelleta Beach & Cala Macarella
Macarelleta Beach

Another beach on the south coast of Menorca, in between Cala en Turqueta and Cala Galdana that you have to visit it Macarelleta Beach. Another one of the most popular beaches on Menorca that is slightly hidden away.
Macarelleta beach is another popular beach, with it’s intimate feel, tiny cove, cliffs and trees surrounding the small bay with turquoise waters and of course, golden sun kissed sand.
Not the easiest beach to reach and definitely not one for the hard of walking. Around 35-45 minutes west of Cala Galdana. Alternatively, there’s a car park (location here) to the north, which still requires around a 1km walk south to the beach.

Cala Macarella

A two for one offering as the neighbouring beach provides another one of the best beaches on Menorca to visit. Cala Macarella in the bay next door to Macarelleta Beach is another amazing beach of Menorca. With the Camí cliff top walk to the sides, pine trees, flora and fauna surrounding, spectacular golden white sand and gentle waves caressing the shore.
You reach Cala Macarella in a similar fashion to Macarelleta being next door. There’s a car park (location here) to the north, alternatively head west from Cala Galdana for around 35-45 minutes.
This bay does get particular busy with tourists and boat trips. Although the dock out to sea, it can get busy and worth noting.

Towards the left if facing the sea (the East) has a contained promenade and subsequent wooden walk ways through the dunes onto the beach, which is like many beaches in Menorca, a beautiful golden affair.
